Getting Started Guide
This guide is assuming the starting point of having already downloaded the app.
Setting Up Your Pantry
Your answers to the following questions allow us to tailor UI and functionality to your needs. Your information always remains local unless you opt-in to the sync feature. We will never sell your data.
- How many people are in your household? (What number of people, including yourself, eat groceries?) REWRITE
- If you have other household members but only wish to track your own information it is still better to use "2p" if you often share meals and groceries with others. This allows you to set defaults for yourself without extra hassle.
- Example: If you put down 1p you have to mentally and manually adjust all consumption and transformation amounts.
- What % of the average grocery bill, or meals, do you, individually, eat?
- Optionally set other members default (automatic for 2p)
- Optionally mark member as pay split (future change from even split to percentage)
- Affects the default distribution when using the Consume feature.
- Affects various costs and pricing details
- Optional logs for additional members

- Do you want freshness and expiration estimates?
- Remember that these are just estimates and Pantree, nor any other app, can tell you if something is safe to eat.
- What storage locations are available for your groceries?
- In practice this is primarily for your knowledge, the only exception is the Freezer which will affect freshness and expiration estimates.

Scan your first receipt
Simply open the app and press the camera icon in the bottom center of the screen. This will open the camera view. Align your receipt details with the corners and tap the green circle button in the bottom center. Check the image and make sure all the text is readable and not blurry. If it is blurry you can click "back" to take the photo again. Otherwise tap "Scan Receipt".
Your receipt should begin scanning automatically and then redirect you to the review page. If an error occurs, please Report an Issue Here.
Review your first receipt
The review page is designed to allow you to quickly correct any incorrect information from the scan. It is unlikely that the scan process got everything 100% correct but it shouldn't be too far off. If it is you can try Rescanning a Receipt.
